PATNA: The court has fined a hotel for not serving sambar with masala dosa. The incident happened on August 15 in 2022 at the Namak Restaurant in Bihar’s Buxar. The court intervened on the plea filed by lawyer Manish Pathak.

The lawyer, who came to the hotel with his mother on his birthday, ordered a special masala dosa. Masala dosa worth Rs 140 was bought in parcels. When he went home and opened it, there was no sambar. This was reported to the hotel but the management behaved very badly.

He then decided to send a legal notice to the hotel. After an eleven-month long legal battle, the court found fault with the hotel and imposed a fine of Rs 3500. The commission imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on the restaurant for causing mental, physical and financial hardships to the consumer and Rs 1,500 as litigation cost.
