Prannoy to play semi, PV Sindhu out

MELBOURNE: In the men's singles of the Australian Open badminton tournament, Priyanshu Rajawat and Malayali player HS Prannoy reached the semi-finals, while in the women's singles, PV Sindhu lost in the quarterfinals. In the quarters, Prannoy defeated Indonesian player Anthony Ginting in a three-game battle with the score of 16-21, 21-17, 21-14. Rajawat reached the semi-finals by defeating India's Srikanth Kidambi. Rajavam's success is in direct matches. Score: 21-13, 21-8. Prannoy and Rajawat will meet in the semi-finals.

Sindhu was defeated by America's Beiwen Zhang in the quarters. Zhang defeated Sindhu in single games. Score: 12-21, 17-21. Sindhu has been struggling to find form for some time now and has slipped to 17th in the world rankings.
