NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lashed out at the Congress for bringing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the Rajya Sabha in a wheelchair to attend the voting on the Delhi Services Bill. The BJP said that bringing 90-year-old Manmohan to the Parliament without considering his health was extremely shameful.

“The country will remember this madness of Congress! The Congress kept a former prime minister sitting on a wheelchair late at night in Parliament even in such a state of health, that too, just to keep their dishonest alliance alive! Extremely shameful!”BJP said.

However, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said that Manmohan Singh's presence in the Rajya Sabha was a testament to his faith in democracy. "While the BJP is pushing its activists into coma, people like Manmohan Singh are our inspiration and courage," she said.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party too came out thanking Manmohan Singh."Today, in the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Manmohan Singh stood as a beacon of integrity and came especially to vote against the black ordinance. His unwavering commitment to democracy and the Constitution is a profound inspiration. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to him for his invaluable support.” AAM Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha said.
