Dulquer Salman made a return to Mollywood after two years last Thursday. 'King Of Kotha', was talked about to be the next big thing in Mollywood. The movie was ubiquitous all around Kerala and was a class apart in its promotion work, with the song 'Kalapakkara' hitting the top charts for weeks. The movie soon made it into the annals, as it secured the record for the most successful opening in Malayalam movie history.

However, all the showering praise and paeans for the movie ricocheted back. The movie failed to create any ripple effect within the masses and the critics gave a mixed reaction after the initial day response. On the release day, 'KOK' secured a Rs 5 crore collection from the box office giving hope of a successful run. However near to one week after the release, the box office collection has reported a drop and is heading to abysmal low numbers.

The cumulative collection of the movie is just Rs 14.45 crores. The first show occupancy for the show is just 20.28 percent. The movie is produced by Wayfarer Film and is directed by Abhilash Joshiy, son of veteran filmmaker Joshiy.
