ALAPPUZHA: Two members of the gang that sold drugs after ordering them through couriers have been arrested. They used to deliver drugs under the pretense of being medical storekeepers. The arrested have been identified as Ameersha (24) and Sreesivan (31), natives of Kollam Vaddakevila. The team led by the Alappuzha Excise assistant commissioner caught t.hem. The investigation team suspects that there are more people in the group.
Both of them were caught while buying 100 bottles of liquid diazepam of 10 ml, which were brought through a courier by making a fake order in the name of a medical shop in Alappuzha. They copied the licenses of medical stores on their phone and send it to big companies through social media to order drugs.
The new strategy of drug trafficking was revealed when the courier company employee, who was familiar with the medical store, went directly to the store without contacting the phone. Suspicious about the arrival of unordered medicine, the staff informed the Excise. Then the excise team caught the men who came to pick up the courier after paying the money. They used to charge Rs 1000-1500 for ten ml. The accused who were produced in the court were remanded.
