Dadasaheb Phalke Award for actress Waheeda Rehman

MUMBAI: Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2021. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced the award. The country has honored 85-year-old Waheeda Rehman with the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the country’s highest film honor.

The actress’ popular films are Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Chaudhavi Ka Chand, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Guide, Khamoshi and many others. This blessed actress has managed to portray many roles in her five-century-long-acting career.

Waheeda Rahman was born on February 3, 1938 at Chengalpet in Tamil Nadu. She has acted in more than 90 films. Her film career was through a Telugu film Rojulu Marai in 1955.
