HARARE: Indian billionaire Harpal Randhawa and his son Amer Randhawa were killed in a plane crash. The incident that happened on September 29 came out only now. The plane crashed near a private diamond mine in southwestern Zimbabwe. Reports said the cause of the accident is a technical fault.
Harpal Randhawa is the owner of RioZim, a diversified mining company producing gold and coal as well as refining nickel and copper. Randhawa also founded the $4-billion private equity business GEM Holdings. Apart from this, he also has billions of investments in other companies. The accident happened while he was flying from Harare to Murowa. Apart from Harpal and his son, four more people were on the plane. All have died.
