Heavy rain predicted in isolated places; people in four districts asked to be vigilant, rain alert issued

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a change in rain warning in the state. The central meteorological department has issued orange alert in Thiruvananthapuram. A chance of heavy rain at isolated places has been predicted.

Yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. Isolated heavy rain has been predicted. The central meteorological department said that in the next three hours, there will be moderate rain in isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.


The authorities have warned people in areas prone to mudslides, landslides and flash floods in hilly areas receiving heavy rains to shift to safer places.


The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center informed that there is a possibility of high waves of 0.5 to 2.5 meters along Kerala coast and south Tamil Nadu coast till 11.30 tonight. Fishermen and coastal residents have been asked to be vigilant.
