It was a terrifying few days for actress Rashmika Mandanna, as the internet was galore with obscene videos of her deep fakes. Certain Twitter users first pointed out the AI video, which actually had a shocking resemblance with Rashmika. The dangerous resemblance also made many people think that it was indeed Rashmika Mandanna in the video but not her alter ego. Discussions were ongoing about the issue, but the film fraternity observed silence on the issue. Breaking the eerie silence, Rashmika herself came with a response and said that the ‘technology is being misused’. She thanked her family and her close coterie for helping her during this time, but termed the incident as ‘scary’.

Rashmika took to social media platform X to address this issue. She said “ I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deep fake video of me being spread online. If this incident had happened to me at school, I don’t know how I would have tackled it. I thank my family and friends for supporting me. Technology is being misused and it is scary nevertheless.”Rashmika also tagged the Maharashtra cybercrime investigation team in her tweet.

Earlier, actor Amitabh Bachchan came in support of Rashmika and said it was indeed an issue that should come under the purview of the law.
