The strange theft took place in Audan Bigha, a village in Jehwaabad, Bihar. Not one or two people, but the entire local people took away the materials used for road construction. The video shows the villagers shovelling the concrete into big baskets before it dries. The villagers took the sand and stones that had been collected for road construction to their homes. There was a lot of backlash directed at the locals after the video went viral.

The construction of the road connecting the district headquarters and the village was started as part of the Chief Minister's Village Road project. Two months ago, RJD MLA Satish Kumar laid the foundation stone for the road construction. The road work was partially completed.
