19-year-old Bihar native arrested for Rashmika Mandanna's viral deepfake video; interrogation ongoing

NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old youngster from Bihar was taken into custody by Delhi police for publicizing the infamous deep fake video of actress Rashmika Mandanna. As of now, the youngster is being interrogated by Delhi police with the assumption that it was he who first uploaded the video on social media.

The special cell of the Delhi Police registered a case last Friday in the case of spreading the video, which went viral across the internet and was even rebuked by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. After the video went super viral across the internet, the union IT minister discerned the situation and ordered social media behemoths to immediately take down the videos.

Meanwhile, another deep fake video of Rashmika was released yesterday confounding the officials. In the video, Rashmika's face is morphed into the face of another young woman but it is not obscene as the earlier released version.
