MUMBAI: Rahul Dravid will continue as the main coach of the Indian cricket team. The BCCI in a press release said they have decided to extend the tenure of Dravid and the coaching staff.

Vikram Rathod will continue as the batting coach, Paras Mhambrey as the bowling coach and T Dileep as the fielding coach. The duration of the contract with Dravid, which started in 2021, was till World Cup 2023.

There were reports that Dravid will not continue as the coach after India's defeat in the World Cup final. There were also reports that NCA chief V V S Laxman will replace him as the main coach. However, a decision was taken to extend the tenure in the talks held between Dravid and BCCI.

The Indian team performed well in the World Cup under Dravid's leadership. It was under him that India reached the top spot in the ICC rankings in all formats at the same time.
The collaboration with the Indian team for the last two years will be remembered forever and expressed gratitude for trusting him again. He said that will approach the challenges after the World Cup with optimism.

BCCI president Roger Binny responded that Dravid's foresight and professionalism brought great success to Indian cricket.
