Chennai floods: Actor Rahman shares video of cars being washed away

CHENNAI: Actor Rahman has shared appalling footage of the ongoing flood in Chennai. The video shows cars parked below an apartment being washed away by the floodwater. The video was recorded from the house of Rahman's friend.

'The area I live in is currently safe. The rain started around 2 am on Sunday. The electricity went out at night itself. The power has not been restored yet. My house is in Anna Nagar, which is a slightly safer area. Although there is not so much water near the house, there is water. It is still raining. There is good wind. I saw trees falling from the balcony,' Rahman wrote.

'We had received warnings about the rain 10 days ago. We were also informed about the possibility of a cyclone. The city has received ten times more rain than normal. We, actors of the 80s, have a WhatsApp group and we are contacting each other,' he added.
