DUBAI: In a recent development at Dubai Airport, officials intercepted a passenger arriving from an Asian country carrying a bag purportedly filled with henna powder. However, upon inspection, authorities discovered a staggering 8.9 kilograms of cannabis powder disguised within the bag.
Utilizing advanced technologies, electronic devices and artificial intelligence, Dubai Customs conducted a thorough check revealing the concealed narcotics. The confiscated substance, originally camouflaged as henna powder was in fact cannabis.
With the surge in traveller influx to Dubai, the Director of Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs highlighted an intensified inspection protocol to curb illicit activities at the airport.
Dubai Customs transferred the seized contraband to the Dubai Police's Anti-Narcotics Office for further investigation and legal proceedings. This interception marks a significant move in the continuous efforts to maintain airport security and combat illegal substance trafficking at Dubai Airport.
