Kohli returns to India; Ruturaj out of Test series vs South Africa

JOHANNESBURG: India's star batter Virat Kohli has returned to India from South Africa due to a family emergency ahead of the first Test clash against the Proteas, a report said. However, sources said that Kohli will join the team before the start of the first Test.

"Virat is coming back from South Africa due to some personal reasons but he will be available for the test series against South Africa starting on December 26," a BCCI source stated.

It is reported that Kohli returned home after getting permission from the team management and BCCI. The first test will start on the 26th of this month.

Meanwhile, opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the two-match Test series with a finger injury. Ruturaj sustained the injury while trying to take a catch during the second match of the ODI series.
