Lodge owner and friend held for thrashing woman brutally 

KOCHI: A man and his friend were arrested for brutally thrashing a woman in a lodge. The police arrested Ben Joy, owner of Ben Tourist Home in Kochi and his friend Shaiju. The incident happened last night. The information is that a verbal dispute ended in the attack.

The woman and a group of eight had taken a room in the lodge two days ago. They stayed in two rooms. The woman had gone out last night. Shaiju got into a verbal argument with the woman when she returned and engaged in a verbal dispute. With this, Ben Joy slapped her twice and then asked her to vacate the rooms.

A clash ensued after she said that she would not leave without returning the payment. With this, the Kochi North Police reached the spot and took the accused into custody. The police informed that a detailed investigation will be conducted on the woman's complaint.
