YC worker brutally beaten after derogatory Facebook post against CPM leader

KUMILY: A youth congress worker was allegedly attacked by a group of CPM workers at around 7.30 pm on Wednesday. The CPM had filed a case against the said person, Jobin Chacko (36), a native of Third Mile for making a derogatory post on Facebook against a late CPM leader. Following this, the police had directed Jobin to appear at the Vandiperiyar station on Thursday. He was assaulted in between this.

Jobin, a workshop employee, was returning home after work when a group of CPM workers attacked him. The attack was carried out using nailed wooden pieces. Jobin has suffered a fracture on his leg and an injury in right hand. He was admitted to a private hospital in Kattappana.
