ERNAKULAM: The High Court did not accept the petition filed by opposition leader VD Satheesan seeking a CBI probe into the K-Phone project. The court asked to wait till the CAG report comes and asked why the 2019 agreement is being questioned now. The court also stated that it has to be examined whether this is Public interest or publicity interest. There is no notice to the opposing parties including the state government. The court asked the government to file a statement. The petition will be heard after three weeks. After the petitioner informed that he would present the rest of the evidence after receiving the CAG report, the court asked if shouldn't he have come after receiving it.

It has been said in the petition that fraud and corruption in the manner that took place in the AI camera project have happened in K phone transactions as well. The petition alleged that the contract was awarded to the Bell consortium in violation of government orders and that SRIT was the beneficiary of all the tenders.
