Unidentified gang destroys 500 banana trees in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: An unidentified group destroyed banana plantation in Ottapalam. This atrocity took place in Pramod's one-and-a-half acre farm at his Malappuram house near Thiruvazhiyod.

500 bananas and 300 areca palm seedlings were cut and destroyed on Saturday night. When Pramod came to the farm in the morning, he came to know about the trespass in his field.

Following this, he lodged a complaint with the police. Pramod's last five months of round-the-clock work was ruined by a group of anti-socials. It is not clear who is behind the violence. The police informed that a case has been registered in the incident and an investigation has been started.
