Adorned in gold, diamond and Ruby; Visuals of Ram Lalla from Ayodhya

AYODHYA: The Prana Prathistha ceremony was held at 12:30 pm today and right by then, the first visuals of the Ram Lalla idol surfaced on popular media. However, not many might have delved deep into the sacred jewellery embellished on Lord Ram. Gold, diamonds, rubies and floral pendants are used for the idol and it sure enhances the divinity of the temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries offered prayers at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was also present. A five-year-old form of Lord Rama, Ramlalla Vigraha, is installed in the temple. This idol was carved by the famous sculptor Arun Yogiraj of Mysore. The veil of the idol was changed just before Prana Pratishtha. The Ramjanmabhoomi Theertha Temple Trust judged the sculpture to have the charm and brilliance of a five-year-old boy and was selected through a secret ballot. A bow can be seen in the left hand of the idol and an arrow in the right hand. Om, chakra, mace and swastika motifs adorn the sculpture.

The idol of Ram Lalla is placed on the ground floor of the temple. The first floor will have an idol of Rama along with Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman. Ramlalla's picture went viral on social media days ago. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Sri Rama Janmabhoomi temple, expressed his displeasure at the release of the picture before the Prana Pratishtha.
