My father is not a ‘Sanghi’ says none other than Aishwarya Rajinikanth, filmmaker and daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. Speaking at the audio launch of the film 'Lal Salaam' in Chennai, Aishwarya spoke against how her father is being branded as a right-wing extremist by certain media factions.
Aishwarya Rajinikanth:
Although he is not involved in any social media, here is a team that keeps him updated about the happenings. When some trolls that mock him appear, we all feel sorry and angry at the same time. These days many brand him as a sanghi, but I don’t know what that even means. However, it hurts him very much.
When I enquired, many said it was a jibe taken at supporters of one specific political party. As his daughter, I can say that he is not a sanghi. If he were one, Rajinikanth would have not agreed to make a movie like ‘Lal Salaam’. Aishwarya clarified that only a person with a lot of humanity can make such a film.
Rajinikanth was seen in tears hearing Aishwarya talk. Rajinikanth will appear in a cameo role in 'Lalsalaam'. Vishnu and Vishal are the protagonists. Rajinikanth who attended the Ram temple ceremony received a lot of trolls and was called ‘Sanghi’ by many on social media.
