Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Fighter', directed by Siddharth Anand, has crossed 150 crores at the box office. The film also has Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjita Shaikh in pivotal roles. Although the film started well at the box office, the collection went down after the first week of its release. Now, controversies are also rising in connection with the film.
In a recent interview, director Siddharth Anand said that 90 per cent of the people in the country have not flown in planes and that might be the reason why 'Fighter' did not turn out to be a huge success. This has not gone down well with the social media users of the country. Within no time, Siddharth Anand found himself the subject of numerous trolls and memes on social media. Some people mocked saying that 'Spiderman' became a hit because 90 per cent of Indians travel by swinging across the city instead of taking a bus or train.

Some also responded that Hollywood films such as 'Avengers' and 'Endgame' became blockbusters as 90 per cent of Indians were superheroes. Several people are sharing such memes and trolls on X.

"About 90 per cent of people in our country have never flown on a plane or gone to an airport. So, how do you expect them to know what is happening in the sky? How many percentage of our population has a passport? How many of them have actually travelled on a plane? Such people do not understand anything when they see the action scenes related to planes," Siddharth Anand said in the interview.
