Schools in Chennai receive bomb threat; students sent home

CHENNAI: Some schools in Chennai received bomb threats. Bomb threats were against some private schools in Chennai. Following this, the parents were summoned and their children were sent back with them. The schools received the threat via email. However, the source of the email has not been traced till now.

After receiving the email, the school authorities informed the police and shifted the staff and children from the school. Bomb squad and others have reached the spot. The private schools in Gopalapuram, JJ Nagar, R A Puram and Annanagar received the threat. The police have started an investigation into the incident.

⚠️Bomb threat e-mails were received at a few educational institutions in GCP limits.

⚠️GCP/BDDS teams have been sent for Anti-Sabotage Checks in these educational institutions and action is being taken to identifying the culprit who sent these e-mails.
