‘Monisha’s body was taken to Bangalore filled with ice in milma covers’ 

The name R Gopalakrishnan is quite famous in the film industry. It was Gopalakrishnan, who took the first pictures of Jayaram, Parvathy, Annie and Ganesh Kumar for their film career. Most of the pictures of Gana Gandharvan Yesudas were taken by him. Gopalakrishnan's camera captured many of the vintage pictures of Yesudas that we see today.

Gopalakrishnan is sharing some of his experiences regarding the death of actress Monisha. He shared his life experiences in a special interview on Popadom YouTube channel.
‘Monisha's first picture was taken for Nakhakshathangal. The Gulf trip with Mohanlal was organized a month before Monisha's death. Mohanlal, Revathi, M G Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Monisha, Usha, Alleppey Ashraf etc were there for the 40-day long trip. Monisha was the youngest among them and so was a pet for all of us. When she returned, she joined the sets of ‘Cheppadividya.’

The next day Maniyanpilla Raju called to inform me about her death. We immediately left for Cherthala. Came to know that the body will be taken to Bangalore when we entered the ambulance. The body was not embalmed. Many people told us to buy ice and keep in the body on the way to Bangalore. When we reached Thrissur, saw the board ‘ice for sale’. It was a street where Brahmins lived. When they saw the ambulance, they said could not take the body inside. When we told them that we were carrying the body of actress Monisha, some women came running. They arranged some milma covers, which they washed and gave us, to put ice. They filled the covers with sawdust to keep the ice from melting. Our journey continued with the milma covers filled with ice. Monisha's body was very warm as she died only hours before. The ice melted before it was kept. The body was brought to Bangalore keeping ice continuously throughout the journey.
