Washed face from Ponmudi stream; younster's strange nasal bleeding leaves doctors shocked

ANCHAL: For the past few days, Vaishakh, a native of Valakom had to go through something unusual, that soon morphed into a serious health concern. Blood started oozing out from his nose albeit the youngster experiencing no pain.

To abate the concern, Vaishak approached the hospital and did a check-up. The doctors discerned it as a small bruise that happened deep inside his nose and provided medicines for respite. Shockingly, blood started dripping from his nose again frightening the youngster who then took no chance but made up the decision to approach Anchal Mission Hospital.

In the detailed examination conducted, the doctors held their breath for a second as they detected the presence of a leech inside his nasal bone. It is rare for leeches to stay this long undetected inside a human nose. Head of ENT Dr Arun Raj took out the leech for the nose.

Just a month before, Arun had travelled to Ponmudi with his friends for a leisure trip. On his way back, he washed his face from a stream and it is doubted that the leech may have entered into his nose from this place.
