DUBAI: Eid Al Fitr holidays have been declared for government employees and private sector in UAE. Holidays have been announced for government employees from April 8 to 14. If weekends are added to this, the total number of holidays will be nine. Government offices will reopen from April 15.
Private sector holidays have also been declared in connection with Eid Al Fitr. A four-day holiday has been announced in the private sector from April 8. The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the holidays for private sector employees on Monday.
The holiday will start from April 8 whether the new moon is visible or not. This will be the longest holiday this year in the country. Sharjah and Dubai have announced a week-long short Eid holiday for public sector employees.
The exact date of the festival will be confirmed by the UAE's Moon Sighting Committee. Meanwhile, if the first day of the festival falls on Wednesday, the holiday in the private sector will extend to Friday, April 12.
