'Jai Shriram' is not a political slogan, I have a soft corner for Modi, says Unni Mukundan

Actor Unni Mukundan has a 'soft corner' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I have seen him with a black beard and hair. The actor said that Modi's growth from Chief Minister to Prime Minister has inspired him. Unni Mukundan opened up in an interview to a channel.

BJP is showing a presence in Kerala right now. Surely they will come forward. Change will come in the future. People of Kerala will decide that. I have not gone to rally for any political party. I have not made any political statement. Still, I have heard criticisms. But I don't pay attention to anything.

Still, I managed to stay in the Malayalam film industry for 12 years. Politics and religion are different. Cinema is different. I respect Christianity and Islam. But in my country, it is not acceptable to say that "Jai Shri Ram" should not be said. I cannot accept saying temples should not be visited. "Jai Shri Ram" may be a political slogan for you, but not for me," Unni Mukundan said.
