CHENNAI: The election commission’s flying squad on Sunday searched the car of actress Manju Warrier as part of the state-wide inspection to curtail money laundering.

After the announcement of elections, it is normal in the country to check vehicles as part of the EC’s mission to stop illegal money flow. Vehicles registered in other states are mostly subjected to such inspection. EC officials after spotting Manju Warrier's Kerala registered car waited no chance to beckon the stop sign.

Last day in Tamil Nadu, the car of former CM Edappadi K Palaniswami was checked by EC’s flying squad as part of the routine inspection. Actress Manju Warrier’s car was stopped at Tiruchirappalli Ariyalur Bypass. Immediately after the inspection, the actress was allowed to leave.

Manju, who was driving the car was accompanied by her manager. Meanwhile, recognizing Manju, many people in the locality and even from other vehicles, jumped down on the road for a selfie. The actress cooperated with all and left only after taking photos with them.

On Saturday, EC’s flying squad seized Rs 4 crore from Tambaram railway station, which intensified the search across the state.
