PVR dispute resolved; Malayalam movies will be screened, decision in online meeting

KOCHI: The dispute between India's multiplex theatre chain PVR and Malayalam cinema associations has been resolved. The information is that PVR has agreed to continue screening Malayalam films. The decision was taken in an online meeting between film organizations and PVR representatives.

Discussions were going on with PVR and the Producers Association on the issue of virtual print. FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan had reacted to the incident. Director and actor Vineeth Sreenivasan had said that he and producer Visakh Subramaniam are people who stood by the theatre owners including PVR during crises. FEFKA officials also stated in the press conference that PVR is behaving like a cartel and is questioning the dignity of Malayalam cinemas. Blessy had said that the cancellation of the shows of Aadujeevitham was not even communicated over the phone despite paying the VPF amount in advance. He also informed that the PVR did not accept the request to show it in other states.
