Sanju leads from front; Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets

LUCKNOW: The unbeaten blistering 121-run partnership between Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel powered Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a 7-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday. This is RR's 8th win in 9 matches.

RR captain Samson scored the highest for RR with an unbeaten 71 off 33 while Jurel played a blistering knock of 52 runs in 34 deliveries. LSG bowlers missed their mark and were further broken apart due to multiple dropped catches.

Batting first, LSG managed to score 196/5 in 20 overs, thanks to the half-centuries by KL Rahul (76 off 48) and Deepak Hooda (50 off 31). Sandeep Sharma took 2 wickets, while Trent Boult, Avesh Khan and R Ashwin got one wicket each.

In reply, Rajasthan reached the target with one over to spare (199/3). It was Sanju's blistering knock that took Rajasthan to victory. Sanju was also adjudged the player of the match.
