Newlywed woman brutally assaulted; tightened mobile cable around neck, nose was bleeding

KOZHIKODE: A newlywed woman has filed a police complaint against her husband for allegedly harassing her. The complaint is against Rahul of Pantheerankavu in Kozhikode. Rahul and the woman from Ernakulam got married on May 5. A reception was hosted by the groom’s family yesterday.

When the bride’s family came for the reception, noticed some marks on her face. She also showed some physical discomfort. They enquired about that. They lodged a complaint with the Pantheerankavu police after knowing that the marks were inflicted by Rahul.

Reports said Rahul assaulted her brutally. The proposal of Rahul came via matrimonial site. She told a media that there were no problems before the marriage. He had a suspicion on his wife. He later blocked the numbers of her male friends.

Rahul attacked her in an inebriated condition. He slapped her and then tightened a cable charger around her neck. Her nose was bleeding. She said that when she fainted, Rahul along with his friend took her to the hospital.

A case has been registered against Rahul for domestic violence. The woman returned home saying that she is not interested in continuing life with him. The police will take his statement soon. Rahul is an aeronautical engineer in Germany. The woman is working in Technopark.
