KOZHIKODE: Pantheerankavu Police Station SHO A.S. Sarin, found to have committed a serious lapse in the domestic violence case of the newlywed bride, was suspended from service by North Zone IG K. Sethuraman.
Earlier, SHO Sarin took a carefree attitude and didn’t take seriously the complaint filed by the newlywed bride. It was also found that Sarin put only frail charges against the accused Rahul P Gopalan in the case. The investigation has been now handed over to Farook ACP Saju K. Abraham.
The father of the victim had complained about the police registering just feeble charges against the accused despite his daughter suffering brutal physical torture. It was also alleged that the accused tried to settle the case and his arrest was delayed.
Following this, charges including an attempt to murder were charged against Rahul the other day. The investigation team has issued a lookout notice to trace Rahul, who is still at large.
