PALWAL: The speed of Vande Bharat trains will be further increased. The test run was successfully completed at a speed of 160 km/h. Railway Board Chairperson and CEO Jaya Verma Sinha, along with senior officials of North Central and Northern Railways, inspected the 'Railway Kavach' trial on the Vande Bharat train between Palwal and Vrindavan.

'Kavach', a high-security system developed with India's own technology was successfully tested in a trial run on the Vande Bharat. The eight-coach Vande Bharat train, running at a speed of 160 km/h has been successfully tested, the Railways said. The good news for passengers is that they will now be able to travel faster on Vande Bharat.

Trial runs were also conducted earlier using armor technology. The last trial run was conducted in the presence of the board chairperson and others. The trial run started from Palwal station at 9.15 am and ended at Vrindavan station.

North Central Railway General Manager, Northern Railway General Manager, National Capital Region Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer, Railway Board Principal Executive Director, Agra Divisional Railway Manager and other senior railway officials participated in the trial run. Officials who participated in the trial run said that Sinha was pleased with the successful performance of the 'Kavach,' which met all the parameters efficiently.

The trial run was under the supervision of Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer Khush Gupta. He said the train followed all the speed limits with the help of the 'Kavach' without any intervention from the loco pilot.

Officials also assessed that it was advantageous to be able to complete the task of reducing the speed in the test run and stop the train according to the signal without the intervention of the loco pilot. The train automatically stopped nine meters away from the signal. The Railways informed that the officials have expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the trial run.
