'My name was changed from Haseena to Usha saying that name would be problem while shooting in temples; relatives and people from community opposed move to change name'

Usha's words

'My original name is Haseena. Balachandra Menon sir used to change the names of all his heroines. He was the one who said that my name should be changed. When Menon sir said this to my father, my father said that 'Haseena' was his favourite name. However, Menon sir said that my name might turn out to be a problem when we shoot for the film in the temples. That is how I got the name 'Usha'. Although it was said that my name would be changed in the second film, I did not change it. There was a lot of opposition from relatives and the community against using the name Usha. Now, everything has changed," Usha said.

Usha said that although she is a supporter of the Left Front, she does not want to talk politics. She, however, said that AM Arif would win in the Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency.

"I hope that the LDF would go on to win 20 out of 20 seats. I'm sure the LDF would win more than 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala," she added.
