I was demoralized by comments I got for that show, even thought about quitting acting: Rebecca

In an interview on a YouTube channel, actress and entrepreneur Rebecca Santhosh said that she was able to accept the negative comments of the audience throughout her acting career. The actor also said that she is someone who has played mature characters at a young age.

"I started acting 14 years ago. Acting was my passion. However, all four projects I did in the early stages were failures. After this, I lost confidence. The ones who worked with me also lost trust. So I decided to stop acting and continue studying. Meanwhile, I got an opportunity in 2017. From that day my life started to change," she said.

"Many people started to recognize me. I was 17 years old at that time. I played the character of a mature lawyer in a TV serial. In between, I participated in a television show. It was then that the audience learned about the real Rebecca. I still acted like a child at that time. I got bad comments for participating in that program. Those negative comments could've destroyed me. It was too much to bear."

"People could not accommodate the real Rebecca. Because they have seen me in serials in mature roles. I was very sad at that time. Actually, it was my victory. The bad comments came because the audience accepted my acting."

"So I started taking those negative comments as positive. I took it as an award. Playing such a serious role at such a young age is no mean feat. I still don't understand what I did wrong in that program. I am also an entrepreneur. Many people questioned me even when I started doing business. But my father, mother and husband supported me. Now I want to become a director. I am putting my efforts into that," Rebecca added.

Rebecca has also acted in films like Thiruvambadi Thambaan, Sapthamasree Thaskaraha, Take Off, Oru Cinemakkaran and Minnaminungu. She is the heroine in Kaliveedu, a serial aired on Surya TV.
