'Two private hospitals in Ernakulam have links to international organ trading mafia'; will issue blue corner notice in organ trafficking case, says CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the Legislative Assembly that state police received two complaints regarding organ trafficking in the state and that the investigation into these complaints is in progress.


"One is the complaint lodged by a Malappuram native alleging that two private hospitals in Ernakulam have links to the international organ trading mafia. The second complaint is regarding illegal organ transplantation from Thiruvananthapuram," Pinarayi said in the assembly.

"Three persons have been arrested in the case registered in Nedumbassery. Madhu Jayakumar, the prime accused, is on the run. The police have initiated the process of issuing a blue corner notice through Interpol to trace him. A 13-member police team is investigating the case. The Poojapura is conducting a preliminary investigation in the case registered in Thiruvananthapuram," the CM said.
