THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A holiday has been declared for educational institutions in four districts in Kerala tomorrow in the wake of heavy rains lashing the state. Collectors have declared a holiday in Palakkad, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. However, the holiday does not apply to colleges in Kasargod. The Collectors also said that there will be no changes in the pre-scheduled examinations.
In Kasargod, the holiday has been declared as a precautionary measure after the heavy rains caused waterlogging in various parts of the district in the last 24 hours. District Collector K Inbasekar has announced a holiday for state, CBSE, ICSE, schools, central schools, Anganwadis, madrasas etc. in the district. However, colleges in the district will function tomorrow.
In Kannur, the holiday is applicable to Anganwadis, ICSE, CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, madrasas and tuition centres. The District Collector said that there will not be any change in the public exams and university exams scheduled earlier.
All educational institutions, including professional colleges, Anganwadis and tuition centres, will remain closed on Friday in Wayanad district. The holiday is not applicable for pre-scheduled exams and PSC exams. The holiday is not applicable for Model Residential and Navodaya Schools.
In Palakkad, the District Collector declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, Anganwadis, Kindergartens, madrasas and tuition centers. The holiday is not applicable to pre-scheduled public examinations, residential model residential schools and Navodaya Vidyalayas.
