THRISSUR: Arjun Pandian has taken charge as Thrissur District Collector. The collector who reached the civil station Friday morning at 10 am, was received by additional district magistrate T Murali along with sub collector Muhammed Shefeeq, assistant collector Athul Sagar and other employees. Arjun Pandian is replacing collector V R Krishna Teja, who has been shifted to Andhra cadre.
Pandian said that he sees the post of district collector of Thrissur as a recognition. Interventions will be made after studying the needs and potential of the district in detail. Services will be made available to the public in a transparent and timely manner. Thrissur Pooram will be coordinated in a better manner. He also clarified that the disaster management activities related to monsoons will be made more efficient. Co-operation and support of employees are needed for the comprehensive development.
Arjun Pandian got IAS in 2016 and is a native of Idukki. His father is Pandian and Usha Kumari. After his plus two from Thiruvananthapuram Kilimanoor Govt higher secondary school, he took BTech degree from T K M Engineering College in Kollam. He resigned from TCS in 2014 to focus on civil services. He got IAS in 2016. He took charge as Ottapalam sub-collector in 2019. He also held the title of special officer of Palakkad Medical College. His wife is Dr P R Anu.
He has served as Kannur Assistant Collector, Ottappalam, Mananthavady Sub Collector, Attappadi Nodal Officer, Development Commissioner Idukki, Additional District Magistrate Sabarimala, Revenue Department Joint Commissioner, State Land Board Secretary, Social Voluntary Sena Director, Housing Board Secretary and Scheduled Tribe Development Department Director etc.
