SHIRUR: Jithin, brother-in-law of Arjun, who went missing in the landslide, said that he understands that strong currents are posing a challenge to the rescue operations. While talking to a media, he said that his family are not ready to sacrifice another life during the search for Arjun.

Jithin is in Shirur. 'It has been raining here since last night. It is believed that they will be able to search in the river after the current subsides today. We get the same information as the media gets. I have informed our family about the weather. We are not ready to sacrifice another life for our Arjun,' said Jithin.

Meantime, Arjun's family had lodged a complaint against the slanderous campaign against them on social media. The words during the press meet were edited and circulated with misinterpretation. The complaint also said that the voice of Arjun's aunt was edited and inserted in the video. The cyber police are investigating the incident.

The probe is focused on social media account holders. Some YouTube channels were giving offensive news. The slanderous campaign was launched over a remark made by the family on the day the army launched a rescue operation to find Arjun. The family shared their worries and concerns about the search. Fake videos were circulated by editing the voices of Arjun's mother and aunt.

Ministers to Shirur
Ministers Mohammad Riyas and A K Saseendran will reach Shirur this afternoon. Riyas responded that they will do everything possible. ‘The information received is that the weather is unfavourable. Karnataka government, army and navy are all engaged in the rescue operations,’ said the minister.

Rs 1 crore compensation should be given
Karnataka Brahmashree Narayanaguru Peedam Mutt chief and Arya Ediga Rashtriya Maha Mandali All India President Swami Pranavananda has demanded that the national highway construction company be ready to pay Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of those dead in the landslide and to the family of Arjun, who went missing.

The landslide was caused by the violation of norms to be followed in the construction of the national highway. The company should be blacklisted. A complaint will be filed against the company in the Supreme Court. It will be brought to the notice of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He also said the media and rescue workers who came to Karnataka for Arjun will be honored on August 25 at the Mutt in Karnataka.
