Banana was not given, didn't eat from set for many days; "I am a famous, hated, touchy person": Union Minister Suresh Gopi

Actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi says he is known for being touchy. He said this while speaking at the annual general body meeting of the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce. Suresh Gopi also shared his memories of an old movie set.

'I am a famous, hated, touchy person. I don't deny that. I get cross really well. Sometimes for no reason. There will be no justification sometimes. I have sat on the set without eating for many days. During one of Jayarajan's films, I ate food bought from a hotel with my own money and sat till eleven at night without eating from the set.
It was on the sets of Paithrukam. What was the reason? No banana was served with the meal. It was Jayaram who came and said. I am open to a public trial if required. Jayaram said and Maniyan Pillai Raju joined with him.
Banana was not given and when I asked for banana, the production boy said "Bring it from home'. I put down the rice and said, "Let the banana come, I'll eat after that' and I got up. Everyone got up with me. A strike was announced that day. Since the banana didn't come till evening, I said I would never eat from this set again. The producer's attitude was seen there. The producer must have thought ''let them not eat for a few days. It is profit for me after all," said Suresh Gopi jokingly.
