SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed by the army while attempting to infiltrate the border in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, Kashmir. The operation, which took place between Sunday night and Monday morning, resulted in the seizure of arms including AK-47 rifles, according to army sources.
The army has started a strong search in the area. It is estimated that at least two terrorists have been injured. On September 3, there was an encounter between the army and terrorists in the same area. Within days, there was another infiltration attempt. It is indicated that the terrorists escaped after the army started an investigation. At the end of August, the forces had conducted a search after finding out that terrorists were hiding in Rajouri. In July, a soldier was injured when terrorists attacked a security post.
The three-phased assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are to be conducted. Elections in Kashmir are on September 18, 25 and October 1. Elections have also been announced in Haryana in a single phase on October 1.
