NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its first list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Haryana elections, following the failure of alliance talks with the Indian National Congress. The party has decided to contest all 90 seats alone.

The talks between the two parties failed as Congress was not willing to accept AAP's demand for 10 seats, instead offering only 7 seats. Congress cited AAP's defeat in the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency in the recent general elections as the reason for not offering more seats to AAP.

"With the deadline for submitting nomination papers being the 12th, we have no choice but to go ahead alone," stated Sanjay Singh, Member of Parliament, who led the party's delegation in the alliance talks.

"We genuinely waited for a potential alliance, but it didn't materialize," added Sushil Gupta, President of AAP's Haryana unit.

The talks began following Rahul Gandhi's insistence on forming an 'India' front alliance in Haryana. However, the Congress unit was not in agreement with it.
