THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finesse Thrissur Titans defeated Kochi Blue Tigers by four wickets in the Kerala Cricket League (KLC). Chasing a target of 85 runs to win, Thrissur chased down the target in 17.5 overs for the loss of six wickets. PK Mithun(not out) scored 23 off 31 balls for Thrissur.
After losing the toss and electing to bat, Kochi's batsmen from the top to the tail-end quickly surrendered to the bowlers of Thrissur. Only opener Anand Krishnan was able to cross the double-digit mark. Anand scored 28 runs off 26 balls before being dismissed by Ahmed Imran off Akshay Manohar.
Kochi was seen struggling in front of the deliveries of Thrissur's Mohammed Ishaq in Karyavattom stadium. Ishaq took four wickets submitting 12 runs in his four overs. Kochi's innings ended at 84 runs in 17 overs.
Chasing a target of 85 runs to win, Thrissur lost two wickets in the first over. Thrissur lost the wickets of Vishnu Vinod on the fourth ball of the over bowled by captain Basil Thampi and Anas Nazir on the fifth ball. At the end of the first over, Thrissur were 4 for the loss of two wickets.
At the end of five overs, Thrissur were 23 for the loss of three wickets. Thrissur were 61 for the loss of six wickets in the 14th over. Mithun and Eden Apple Tom combined to take Thrissur to victory without losing any wickets.
