Sreekutty is not legally divorced, laced liquor in juice, says her mother

KOLLAM: Dr Sreekutty, the accused in the hit and run case in Mynagappally, is estranged from her husband Abhish Raj, but has not divorced him. Sreekutty's mother Surabhi told a news channel that the cause of all the recent incidents is her ex-husband and his involvement with Ajmal, a criminal. The two trapped her, said her mother. Sreekutty, who had not consumed liquor earlier, was given juice laced with alcohol. Let police find the truth, she said.

However, Sreekutty told police that she and Ajmal used to drink alcohol regularly. The police have also got the visuals of Ajmal giving liquor to Sreekutty on the day the accident happened. The police also received information that the accused used to take drugs.

Meanwhile, the report of the case against Sreekutty will be handed over to the health department. Ajmal was a regular visitor to the hospital where Sreekutty worked. The two met and became close at the hospital. Soon after the accident, Sreekutty was sacked from the hospital.

Sreekutty and Ajmal have been remanded for 14 days. When they knocked down the two scooterists, it was Sreekutty who directed Ajmal to flee from the spot. The car then ran over them killing one.
