Girl who reached India at age of 12 was trapped by Shyam, Jagatha controlled sex racket in Kochi; more details about sex racket come out

KOCHI: Further details have come out about the sex racket that subjected a young Bangladeshi woman to brutal sexual assault in Kochi. The sex racketing gang, which is spread across Kochi and Bengaluru, forced the woman to have sex with multiple individuals in the last 8 years.

The woman, who lost her parents at a very young age, came to India from Bangladesh when she was just 12 years old. Soon after reaching India, she fell into the clutches of the sex trafficking gang.

The police have arrested Jagatha, Serina and Shyam, who controlled the sex racket. It was Serina who controlled the operations of the gang in Bengaluru, while Jagatha controlled the gang in Kochi. Shyam was the one who lured the girl into the racket. The girl revealed to police that Shyam forced her into prostitution, with up to seven men visiting her in a single day. She was later handed over to Serina, who controlled the Bengaluru faction of the racket. Serina also forced the girl into prostitution with multiple men. Last week, she was handed over to Jagatha in Kochi. Reports indicate that over 20 people in Kochi were involved in exploiting the girl.
