Kochi go into frenzy as Blasters secure dramatic late win over East Bengal

KOCHI: Kerala Blasters secured their first win of the season in the Indian Super League on Sunday. Blasters came from behind to defeat East Bengal at a full-packed JLN stadium in Kochi. Noah Sadaoui and Kwami Peprah scored the goals for the home team.

All the goals in the Blasters vs East Bengal match came in the second half. East Bengal managed to score first, changing the raucous atmosphere to still silence in Kochi. Adding salt to injury, it was Bengal’s Malayali player PV Vishnu, who opened the scoring in the 59th minute.

In the 63rd minute, Moroccan player Noah Sadaoui levelled the game with an individual genius. When everyone thought the match was heading to a draw, Kwame Peprah scored a goal, sending Kochi into a frenzy. The winning goal came in the 88th minute.

Blasters are currently sixth in the point table with one win and a loss.
