No actresses of recent times could imagine having the same clout as once enjoyed in the Malayalam film industry by Kavya Madhavan. Urvashi and Shobana are legends of the trade and are revered in the industry. It is not in the same eye that the audience rates Kavya but her erstwhile popularity can even outclass these legends.

After marrying actor Dileep, Kavya took a hiatus from movies and is busy playing her real-life role as a homemaker.

And now, one of her old interviews is doing the rounds on social media. In the interview, the anchor asks her the secrets of keeping intact the popularity despite the changing times. The interview was taken when Kavya was at the peak of her career.

“I will have to step aside one day. There will be a time in Malayalam cinema when I will have to say goodbye. Some people within my friend’s circle would ask me to refrain from such talks but I have some intuition about the changing trend.

Some others advised me to not keep such narrow perceptions. They would often flatter me saying about my modest beginnings in the industry and how I attained the stardom I have today. They say it is a crime as an artist to think about quitting the movie industry. Such advice often pushes me to think otherwise” said Kavya Madhavan.

Kavya Madhavan, who came as a child actor, last acted in the 2016 film ‘Pinneyum’ with Dileep.
