Minister Surekha's allegation on Chay-Samantha divorce shakes up Telugu film industry; Naga Chaitanya responds

Telangana minister Konda Surekha’s remark on Naga Chaitanya-Samantha divorce is the new hot topic in the industry. Surekha blamed KT Rama Rao, son of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, for ruining the star couple’s marriage. Surekha in her acerbic remark alleged KTR of ruining the lives of many such prominent personalities.

Many prominent names from the Telugu film industry deplored the minister's remark and asked for prudence from political leaders while engaging in political diatribes.

“It is cheap and unscrupulous to drag in film personalities for settling political scores. My divorce was mutual and amicable. Apart from that, there is no political conspiracy”, Samantha clarified.

“Till now I have remained silent for having huge respect for my former spouse. But the ridiculous statement dragging us to make headlines is shameful nevertheless. This is exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities.” Said Naga Chaitanya.

“Please respect the privacy of others. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and allegations against our family are irrelevant and wrong”, Nagarjuna noted.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya married in 2017. The marriage lasted till 2021. Naga Chaitanya and actress Shobhita Dhulipala are now engaged.
