KALPETTA: A complaint has been filed regarding the missing belongings of Siddharth, a former student of Pookode Veterinary College. Twenty-two items, including his glasses and books, were reported missing from his hostel room. Siddharth's relatives, who had come to the hostel to collect his belongings, informed a media outlet that several items were missing. A complaint has been submitted to the college authorities, and relatives suspect that the missing items may have been taken by either the police or the CBI.

Siddharth, a second-year BVSc student from Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly died due to a mob trial, brutal beating, and mental torture. On February 18, he was found hanging in the hostel washroom. According to reports, Siddharth had been beaten by a group of students for three consecutive days, both inside the hostel and in a nearby hilly area, following accusations that he had misbehaved with a female student.

The accused reportedly issued threats in front of around 150 students and allegedly denied Siddharth food. After attempting to travel to Ernakulam to return home, Siddharth was called back and subjected to further abuse. Shortly after, he was found hanging. The case is currently under investigation by the CBI.
