Man hacks wife, mother-in-law to death over dubious social media post

AGARTALA: In a bone-chilling grotesque murder, a 51-year-old hacked his wife and mother-in-law to death over a social media post.

According to police, the accused was estranged from his wife for more than a year. He lives in Madhupur with his two sons. Meanwhile, the wife lived with her mother in Netaji Nagar in West Tripura. As part of Durga Puja celebrations on Saturday, the woman shared pictures with her two male friends on social media which irked the estranged husband.

When the woman was returning home with her mother, the accused ambushed and hacked both to death. The police arrested the accused and will soon produce them in court.
